Indonesia’s planned ban on primary aluminum ore exports had a small impact on Chinese supply because producers have diversified their sources and well use recycled aluminum.

Indonesia's government planned to ban exports of bauxite this year to support the development of downstream mining. Some people may concern about the industry, such as the disruption of China's aluminum supply.

However, experts had different opinions as they stated that imports from Indonesia are replaceable and other countries can easily satisfy their needs. Therefore, in the short term, bauxite prices will not fluctuate much.
