Indonesia's President to attend groundbreaking ceremony of new aluminum smelter in North Kalimantan this Dec

It was reported that Indonesian President Joko Widodo will attend the groundbreaking ceremony of a new aluminum smelter in North Kalimantan on December 16.

The aluminum smelter is worth US$2 million. The investment funds mainly came from Indonesian companies, without disclosed enterprises’ names.

The construction of smelters is one of the ways to uphold the development of the International Port Industrial Zone (KIPI) in East Kalimantan. This area will receive an investment with a cumulative worth of around US$100 million by 2030.
