Indonesia’s PT BAI alumina refinery to start operations in early 2021

It was reported that PT Bintan Alumina Indonesia (BAI), an alumina refinery in Galang Batang Special Economic Zone (KEK), expected to start its operations in January or February 2021, and the electricity station was scheduled to run in December of this year.
The president director of PT BAI, Santoni, said that PT BAI is currently the only bauxite processor in the Riau Islands. This alumina refinery’s bauxite source is from Bintan Island and some regions of Kalimantan.
