Japan's cold-rolled stainless steel sheet output drops in 2019

According to official statistics from Japan, the country’s cold-rolled stainless steel sheet output reached around 1.31 million tons in 2019, down by nearly 12.1% compared to the previous year.

Among them, the output of chromium series was around 595,000 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 14.5%; that of chromium-nickel series was around 455,000 tons, a year-on-year drop of 15.7%; that of chromium-nickel-molybdenum series war roughly 30,300 tons, a year-on-year decline of 13.4%.

In terms of sizes, cold-rolled strip accounted for about 120,000 tons, cold-rolled wide strip accounted for roughly 1.17 million tons, and cold-rolled sheet occupied approximately 17,300 tons.
