Japan’s crude steel production falls in Jul

According to the Japan Iron and Steel Federation (JISF), Japan's crude steel production totaled 6.91 million tons in July, increasing by 3.1% compared to the previous month while falling by 2.5% from the same month a year ago.

Among them, the output from blast furnaces was 5.2 million tons, up by 7.8% year on year, and that from electric furnaces was 1.7 million tons, sliding by 8.2% year on year.

In terms of pig iron, the output was 5.06 tons, increasing by 6.4% month on month but falling by 1.5% year on year.
