JISF: Japan's crude steel output to drop below 80 million tons in current fiscal year

According to Japan Iron and Steel (JISF) new chairman, Eiji Hashimoto, the country's crude steel output will fall to below 80 million tons for the current fiscal year that ended in March 2021. The new chairman, also the president of Nippon Steel Corp., had given the same point of view in this May.

Hashimoto also gave warns that the relative superiority of China's steel mills will rise after the epidemic because they are improving output and technology.

Japan's crude steel output in the last fiscal year ended in March 2020 was 98.43 million tons, dropping by 4.3% from the previous fiscal year.
