Due to the sharp increase of COVID-19 cases, Malaysia implemented a nationwide blockade from June 1 for a period of two weeks until the 14th.

For this reason, the steel industry and automobile manufacturers are only allowed to retain 10% of the manpower, while the electronics, chemical, and pharmaceutical industries can retain 60%.

Toyota, which produced 50,000 vehicles in Malaysia last year, will suspend production and sales from June 1. Honda also decided to close two factories during the lockdown. Daihatsu will also stop production.

Since Malaysia accounts for nearly half of Daihatsu's production outside Japan, the lockdown has greatly affected the company this time.

Now that the epidemic has broken out again, the global manufacturing industry may also be affected.
