According to the announcement from Nippon Steel, the price of 300-series cold-rolled stainless steel and plate will be raised by ¥5,000 per metric ton for October, marking the first price hike for 300-series cold-rolled products since August.

Prices for 400-series cold-rolled stainless steel will remain unchanged for the second consecutive month.

This price adjustment is based on Nippon Steel’s proprietary alloy surcharge mechanism, which automatically reflects fluctuations in the costs of alloying elements such as nickel and chromium, as well as changes in the Japanese yen exchange rate.
