Norsk Hydro to cut output at Alunorte alumina refinery in Brazil

Norsk Hydro, a Norwegian aluminum and renewable energy company, said yesterday (June 22) that it will cut the output at its Alunorte alumina refinery in Pará, a state in northern Brazil, due to power outages.

The alumina refinery needed two to three weeks to restore the power supply, so the refinery will be operated at a capacity utilization rate of 50-70%.
