The US Department of Commerce (USDOC) announced an affirmative anti-dumping (AD) duties on common alloy aluminum sheet products imported from 18 countries, of which Hydro Aluminium Rolled Products GmbH, a fully-owned subsidiary of Norsk Hydro in Germany, was subject to a high duty rate of 352.71%.

According to the US, the reason for this measure was due to the fact that the US market was facing dumping aluminum products of billions of Norwegian kroner.

Halvor Molland, vice president communication of Norsk Hydro, said that the duty is unreasonable and unfounded.
