North American Stainless (NAS), a US-based stainless steel and specialty alloy producer, is upgrading its operations with an order for a KOCKS Reducing & Sizing Block (RSB®) 370++/6.

This investment is a part of a major modernization project designed to increase production flexibility, improve product quality, and enhance efficiency. The new RSB® 370++/6 will be integrated into the existing rolling mill and will enable NAS to roll straight and coiled SBQ bars, including round bars (stainless and high-performance alloys) from a diameter of 12.7 to 103.6 mm, special rebar with 3 ribs ranging from 12.7 mm to 44.5 mm, and hexagon bars from 12.7 mm to 76.2 mm.

In addition to the RSB®, the supply also included KOCKS Blue Box® water cooling lines and the Microstructure Simulator for thermomechanical rolling. For quality control, the package integrates the 4D EAGLE S system with the Size Control System and remote controls for precise closed-loop adjustments. Completing the order are Shears, Electric and Automation components, and BAMICON Octopus software to support roll shop set-up processes.

With an annual capacity of approximately 200,000 tons, this technology will significantly contribute to higher productivity and operational excellence. Commissioning is scheduled for the third quarter of 2026.
