Novelis Inc., a Georgia-based industrial aluminum company, has invested US$2.5 billion in the construction of a recycling and rolling plant in Bay Minette, Alabama. The construction began on October 7. This highly advanced facility was expected to start production in mid-2025.

The facility set an initial annual output of 600,000 tons of finished aluminum products, focusing on the beverage container market, with flexibility for automotive production.

A new recycling center for beverage cans was also added. After the facility is put into operation, the company's beverage can recycling capacity will increase by 15 billion per year.
