In order to further implement its commitment to sustainability and recycling, this week, Novelis, the subsidiary of Mumbai’s Hindalco Industries Ltd. and the largest recycler of aluminum in the world, started the construction of a state-of-the-art aluminum recycling center in Guthrie, Kentucky.

This new recycling center will cost around US$365 million and was expected to be put into operation in 2024. The nameplate capacity of the new plant is around 240,000 tons per year of sheet aluminum ingot.

Over 140 jobs would be created for Kentuckians and over one million tons of carbon emissions would be reduced each year.
