According to the data from the Ministry of Energy and Mines of Peru (MINEM), Peru produced a total of around 6.1 million tons of iron ore in the first half of this year, rising by 0.66% compared to the same period a year ago.

In June alone, Peru’s iron ore production was up by 3.8% year on year to roughly 1.2 million tons, mainly attributed to the output from Shougang Hierro Perú, the largest domestic iron ore producer.
