Peru’s iron ore production slides in Nov 2021

According to the data from the Ministry of Energy and Mines of Peru (MINEM), Peru’s iron ore production amounted to around 998,500 tons in November 2021, sliding by 1.19% compared to the previous month and also falling by 15.8% from the same month a year ago.

Among them, the production from Shougang Hierro Perú, the largest iron ore producer in Peru, occupied 98.3% of the total output in Peru.

In the first 11 months of 2021, Peru’s iron ore production had a year-on-year hike of 44%, reaching around 11.4 million tons.
