Philippine miners allowed to operate under strict epidemic prevention measures

The Philippine government said that with the relaxation of coronavirus lockdown measures, the country's miners have been allowed to operate, subject to strict enforcement of safety provisions.

Wilfredo Moncano, acting director of the Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) of the Philippines, said on Wednesday (May 13rd) that local mines and factories were allowed to operate at 50% capacity or full capacity under correct medical equipment and supplies to ensure workers' health.
