Rio Tinto is integrating its Lithium business into the newly formed Aluminium & Lithium product group, led by Jérôme Pécresse. The move creates a simplified structure by combining businesses with similar processing capabilities and downstream exposure.

The consolidated group aims to streamline operations and enable the shared deployment of productivity initiatives, such as the Safe Production System, which has driven performance improvements in the Aluminium business.

The new product group will consist of three distinct businesses: Atlantic Operations Aluminium, Pacific Operations Aluminium, and Lithium. This change is part of the company’s restructuring, designed to simplify the product group structure and enhance profitability.
