Russia imports fewer stainless steel in Sep

According to statistics released by the Russian Special Steel and Alloys Consumers and Suppliers Association (SpetsStal Association), Russia imported around 18,000 tons of stainless steel in September this year, falling by 40% compared to the previous month and also dropping by 54% from the same month a year ago.

During the period, the import volume of cold-rolled stainless steel products was down by 54% and that of hot-rolled stainless steel products slid by 24%, both on a month-on-month basis.

The imports of stainless steel welded pipes grew by 3.4% month on month, and the volume of stainless steel seamless pipes had a month-on-month decrease of 11.4%. Meanwhile, stainless steel long products and wire imports slid by 16% and 23% month on month, respectively.
