According to Igor Malyshev, director of the Foundation for Development of Tube Industry (FRTP), Russian steel pipe consumption was expected to decrease by the end of 2020.

He said that the pipe consumption in 2020 was expected to be 9.1 million tons, decreasing by 10% compared with 2019. At the same time, unfortunately, producers cannot make up the insufficient domestic demand by exports.

In order to increase the steel pipe consumption, FRTP will assist in the development of national standards and actively push the government to modernize the public infrastructure system.
