Russia’s aluminum export value to China hit record high in Jan-Aug

Chinese customs statistics showed that Russia’s aluminum exports to China hit a record high in value of US$2.3 billion in the first eight months of this year. The aluminum imports in 2019 were valued at US$60.6 million only.
By volume, China’s aluminum imports from Russia surged by 1.4 times compared to the January-August period a year ago.
In the given period, metal supply from Russia to China grew by 8.5% year on year to US$5.1 billion from US$4.7 billion in the first eight months of 2023.
