A stable electricity supply is very important for aluminum manufacturing processes and quite essential for the continuous operations of aluminum mills. In order to maintain and repair its gas turbines, Sohar Aluminium, one of the largest and most famous aluminum smelters in Oman, signed an agreement with General Electric (GE) this week.

As per the contract, GE will repair, maintain, and provide parts for Sohar's four GE gas turbines and four generators. Besides, Asset Performance Management (APM) software would also be provided for the equipment.

This contract will last for 10 years. After the optimization, Sohar Aluminium will run with low emissions, low costs, and minimal environmental impact.
