South Korea launches first AD sunset review of stainless steel flat-rolled products from China, Indonesia & Taiwan

According to the report, South Korea’s Ministry of Economy and Finance announced on May 17th, 2024, that it launched the first sunset review of anti-dumping duty (AD) on stainless steel flat-rolled products for thicknesses less than 8mm from China, Indonesia, and Taiwan. It was the request from the domestic steelmaker POSCO submitted on March 13th, 2024. The investigation period covers January 1st, 2023, to December 31st, 2023, and the injury investigation was from January 1st, 2020, to December 31st, 2023. The final result will be determined within 6 months.
South Korea initialized an anti-dumping investigation into stainless steel flat-rolled products from China, Indonesia & Taiwan on September 25th, 2020. It imposed anti-dumping duties on those 3 countries for three years, starting on September 15th,2021. The dumping rate for China, Indonesia & Taiwan is 23.69%~25.82%, 25.82%, and 7.17~9.47%, respectively. Meanwhile, it imposed zero anti-dumping duties for companies with price commitments.
