South32's Q1 aluminum production driven by new energy technology at Mozal smelter

South32, a mining and metals company headquartered in Australia, reported that its aluminum production totaled 248,000 tons in the first quarter of this fiscal year (three months ended September 2021), rising by 1% compared to the previous quarter.

The increase was mainly because its Mozal primary aluminum smelter introduced new energy technology, which improved productivity.
