Spain’s crude steel output grows in Oct

According to statistics from Spanish Steel Association (UNESID), Spain’s crude steel output totaled roughly 1.28 million tons this October, up by 2.6% compared to the previous month and also hiking by 8.8% from the same month a year ago.

In the first ten months of this year, Spain’s crude steel output amounted to around 12.2 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 35% estimated from the World Steel Association (worldsteel)’s figure.

In October, 1.03 million tons of ferrous scrap were used by Spain for steel production, rising by 1.8% compared to September and 48.9% from the corresponding period in 2020. The consumption of ferrous scrap in the first ten months totaled 9.6 million tons, accounting for nearly 79% of total crude steel output during the period.
