Taiwan’s coated steel manufacturers initially benefited from US tariffs. However, subsequent tariff uncertainties led to cautious purchasing by American buyers, decreasing the initial advantage. Taiwan’s mills now face increased difficulty in securing orders and maintaining prices in the US market.

Moreover, the rapid appreciation of the New Taiwan dollar has further complicated quoting prices and squeezed profit margins for exporters. This currency surge puts additional pressure on the already struggling coated steel mills, making it challenging to navigate export pricing strategies.
