The shipment, including billets, from China Steel Corporation (CSC) and Dragon Steel Corporation (DSC) totaled 1.011 million tons in August, rising by 19.9% compared to the previous month. The shipment was also 50,000 tons more than the target volume.

Among them, domestic sales accounted for 511,000 tons, a month-on-month increase of 80,000 tons. Exports were 500,000 tons, up by 88,000 tons month on month. CSC’s shipment occupied 706,000 tons, and DSC’s totaled 305,000 tons.

Chien-Chih Hwang, CSC’s Executive Deputy General Manager, said that the shipment of hot-rolled steel exceeded the target by 31,000 tons, and cold-rolled steel shipment w also surpassed the target by around 12,000 tons, driven up by the recovered market demand, which was the main cause for the improved shipment performance in August.
