Tang Eng Iron Works Co., Ltd., one of the major stainless steel producers in Taiwan, announced its January pricing today (December 31), raising rates for 304 hot-rolled and cold-rolled stainless steel coils by NT$5,000/ton. This adjustment aligns with the decision of Yieh United Steel Corp. (Yusco) yesterday to apply an identical increase. Both major upstream producers have now issued higher prices for two consecutive months, while 316L surcharges remain unchanged.

The entire market shows a consistent upward trend across the sector. Yieh Hsing also hiked its 304 wire rod prices by NT$5,000/ton, and Walsin Lihwa applied a NT$4,000 increase for the same products. These price trends across Taiwan’s leading steelmakers indicate a firm consensus on rising material costs recently.
