Walsin Lihwa, a stainless steel wire rod and cable manufacturer in Taiwan, announced on February 25 that it will increase its stainless steel prices for March due to rebounding demand and rising raw material costs.

Among them, the 316 series will be subject to the largest hike at NT$4,000 per ton, while the 300 series and 400 series increase by NT$2,000 and NT$1,000 per ton, respectively. Prices for the 200 series remain unchanged.

A 70% reduction in Indonesian nickel mining quotas pushed costs up, coupled with higher prices for molybdenum, chromium, and stainless steel scrap. As consumption markets return from holidays, Walsin Lihwa adjusted prices to reconcile manufacturing pressure with the need for downstream clients to remain competitive in a recovering market.
