Tata Steel plans to increase production capacity in response to massive steel exports from China

India's Tata Steel MD & CEO, TV Narendran, indicated that Tata Steel plans to increase its production capacity by 1 to 2 million tons annually to cope with China's large steel exports. China exported 8 million tons of steel products per month in 2023, which hit the highest level since 2015. Besides, the official also said that in order to increase the company's competitiveness, it is preparing to auction mines in 2030.
