Walsin Lihwa, a stainless steel wire rod and cable manufacturer in Taiwan, will increase its export price for 300-series stainless steel by US$30/ ton in July, marking the second consecutive monthly hike. This adjustment reflected the appreciation of the New Taiwan dollar against the US dollar.

For the domestic market, the prices of stainless steel products of 200, 300, and 400 series will be maintained. However, free-cutting steel bar will have a price increase of NT$1,000/ton.

The company noted that while raw material costs for molybdenum and copper are rising, the stronger New Taiwan dollar pressured export quotes. Demand from downstream clients is picking up as the situation in the Middle East eases.
