Ukraine’s Cabinet of Ministers has approved regulations on specific regulations of electricity imports during the autumn and winter period of 2022-2023 under the conditions of martial law in Ukraine.

The regulations stipulate that consumers who use imported electric energy shouldn’t limit their selection of electric energy. At the same time, in order to prevent system accidents in the United Energy System of Ukraine due to Russian armed aggression, the supply of imported electric energy to consumers may be stopped in case of the implementation of special shutdown schedules.

Ukraine has already tested a small amount of imported electricity and now plans to increase electricity imports to meet public demand.
