According to customs data released by the States Customs Service of Ukraine, aluminium and aluminium product exports from Ukraine during the first six months of 2024 were valued at $54.175 million, up by 12.8 per cent year over year. In June alone, the export value was $10.383 million.

In the full-year 2023, Ukraine’s aluminium and aluminium product exports grew by 0.7 per cent Y-o-Y to $97.616 million, whereas the exports in 2022 plunged by 42.7 per cent to $96.972 million.

Imports of Ukraine’s aluminium and aluminium products rose 7.7 per cent last year to $366.463 million versus $340.398 million in 2022 when imports dropped Y-o-Y.

The increase in Ukraine’s aluminium export value could be due to several factors, such as competitive product pricing compared to other countries, higher foreign currency values, and enhanced production levels, which translate to more exports and higher export values.

The exported aluminium from Ukraine is destined for the production of cookware and aluminium foil for food and packaging industry, besides the metals is ideal as a raw material in the aviation and aerospace industries.
