According to statistics, Ukraine's crude steel production amounted to 5.84 million tons in the first ten months of this year, sharply dropping by 66.1% compared to the same period a year ago. Meanwhile, the output of pig iron and steel products slid by 67.2% and 67.3% year on year to 5.8 million tons and 5.02 million tons, respectively.

In October alone, Ukraine produced 318,000 tons of crude steel, a month-on-month decrease of 6.5%. The output of pig iron and steel products was up by 12.6% and 13.8% month on month to 349,000 tons and 290,000 tons, respectively.

At least two major Ukrainian steel plants were destroyed by the Russian-Ukrainian war, and the logistics were disrupted as well, which severely impacted production and shipment, letting the Ukrainian steel industry fall into a huge disaster.
