Metinvest Group’s Northern GOK in Ukraine has successfully restored its production capacity, despite the ongoing challenges of war.

In 2024, the company experienced a significant turning point with the reopening of Odesa ports, enabling iron ore exports by sea and stabilizing its operations.

In the summer, the Gannivka open pit resumed production, nearing 100% capacity by year-end.

The plant has also focused on cost reductions and modernization, including upgrades to equipment and the replacement of vacuum pumps at its ore dressing plant. These improvements have contributed to enhanced efficiency and sustainability.

Additionally, Northern GOK prioritizes the safety of its employees with regular safety drills and support programs for war veterans returning to work.

Northern GOK remains a key employer and contributor to the local economy, working closely with communities to improve infrastructure and offer financial support to new professionals.

CEO Igor Tonev expressed confidence in the plant's resilience, emphasizing its role in strengthening Ukraine’s economy amid adversity.
