US’ crude steel production in week ending Dec 9 slightly falls

According to statistics from the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), in the week ending December 9, the production of US’ crude steel totaled 1.697 million short tons, slightly falling by 0.3% from the same period a week ago and up by 7.7% compared to the same period a year earlier. The capacity utilization rate was 73.8%, dropping by 0.3% week on week and rising by 3.2% year on year.

As of the week ending December 9, the adjusted year-to-date production of US’ crude steel has amounted to around 83.64 million short tons, a year-on-year drop of 0.2%. The capacity utilization rate was 75.5%, a year-on-year decrease of 2.0%.
