US makes affirmative final ruling of AD & CVD probes on aluminum extrusions from 14 countries

On September 27, 2024, the US Department of Commerce (USDOC) announced an affirmative final ruling of the AD investigations on aluminum extrusions from China, Colombia, Ecuador, India, Indonesia, Italy, Malaysia, Mexico, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, the UAE, and Vietnam, as well as the final determination of the countervailing duty (CVD) investigations on the same products from China, Indonesia, Mexico, and Turkey.

According to the determination, China received a duty rate of 4.25% and 376.85%, and the rate adjusted for subsidy offsets is 0% and 365.13%. The duty rate is 7.11% to 39.54% for Colombia, 12.50% to 51.20% for Ecuador, 0% to 39.05% for India, 7.62% to 107.10% for Indonesia, 0% to 41.67% for Italy, 0% to 27.51% for Malaysia, 7.42% to 81.36% for Mexico, 0% to 43.56% for South Korea, 0.74% (de minimis) to 67.86% for Taiwan, 2.02% to 4.35% for Thailand, 9.91% to 37.26% for Turkey, 7.14% to 42.29% for the UAE, and 14.15% to 41.84% for Vietnam.

Additionally, the subsidy rate for China, Indonesia, Mexico, and Turkey is 14.56%-168.81%, 0.53% (de minimis)-33.79%, 0.10% (de minimis)-77.84%, and 0.83% (de minimis)-147.53%, respectively.

The US International Trade Commission (USITC) is scheduled to make final determinations for the AD and CVD probes on November 12, 2024.

The products involved are classified in the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS) under item numbers 7604.10.1000, 7604.10.3000, 7604.10.5000, 7604.21.0000, 7604.21.0010, 7604.21.0090, 7604.29.1000, 7604.29.1010, 7604.29.1090, 7604.29.3060, 7604.29.3090, 7604.29.5050, 7604.29.5090, 7608.10.0030, 7608.10.0090, 7608.20.0030, 7608.20.0090, 7610.10.0010, 7610.10.0020, 7610.10.0030, 7610.90.0040, and 7610.90.0080.
