The US has previously reached an agreement with Canada and Mexico in May 2019 to cancel tariffs on aluminum imports from them.

However, before the effective date (July 1) of the new United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA), it was rumored that the US might plan to reimpose 10% tariffs on aluminum imports from Canada from July 1 if Canada rejected to restrict its aluminum exports.

So far, the US Trade Representative’s office hasn’t given any comment on the above news.
