US’ primary aluminum production slightly slides in Nov 2023

According to statistics from the US Census Bureau, the US produced 61,000 tons of primary aluminum in November last year, keeping flat compared to the previous month and slightly falling by 1.6% from the same month in 2022. The daily average output was 2,040 tons, a month-on-month decline of 3%.

During the reporting period, the aluminum output recycled from aluminum scrap was 269,000 tons, of which 148,000 tons were recycled from new aluminum scrap and 121,000 tons were from old aluminum scrap.

In the first 11 months of 2023, the US’ primary aluminum production amounted to 686,000 tons, of which 378,000 tons were produced in the first half and the remainder was produced in the July-November period, showing a downward trend in the second half.
