US’ raw steel production in week ending Sep 6 rises

According to statistics from the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), in the week ending September 6, 2025, the production of US’ raw steel totaled 1.795 million net tons, increasing by 1.5% from the same period a week ago and rising by 7.7% compared to the same period a year earlier. The capacity utilization rate was 79.2%, up by 1.1 percentage points week on week and up by 4.2 percentage points year on year.

As of the week ending September 6, 2025, the adjusted year-to-date production of US’ raw steel has amounted to 61.461 million net tons, slightly rising by 1.9% compared to the prior-year level. The capacity utilization rate was 77%, up by 0.6 percentage points year on year.
