US to initiate AD circumvention inquiry on stainless steel wire rod

The US Department of Commerce (USDOC) will initiate a circumvention inquiry to determine whether imports of stainless steel round wire from Vietnam are circumventing the anti-dumping duty (AD) duties imposed on South Korea’s stainless steel wire rods by using South Korea’s materials and then minorly altering them in Vietnam, based on an allegation of circumvention from North American Stainless (NAS).

The products involved in this inquiry are classified under HS codes 7221.00.0005, 7221.00.0015, 7221.00.0030, 7221.00.0045, and 7221.00.0075.

The USDOC intended to issue its final determination within 300 days after February 1, 2022.
