Vedanta Aluminium, the largest aluminum producer in India, is preparing to open a new casthouse, Casthouse 4, at its Jharsuguda facility by the end of 2025. This 430 kilotonnes per year (ktpa) capacity unit will produce 250 ktpa of billet and 180 ktpa of other value-added products.

To power this transition, Vedanta has partnered with Gail Gas. Gail Gas will construct a 7.5-kilometer pipeline to deliver approximately 32,000 standard cubic meters of natural gas daily directly to the new facility. The move is expected to significantly reduce the casthouse's emissions, with a projected 62% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions.
