Indian mining giant Vedanta reported a decline in its quarterly profit, missing analyst expectations of Rs 34.83 billion by around 8.6%. The consolidated net profit in the quarter ending June 30, 2025, fell to Rs 31.85 billion from Rs 36.06 billion a year ago.

This decrease was largely due to lower aluminum and copper prices, which dropped by 4% and 4.1% year on year, respectively, during the quarter. Higher tax expenses also impacted the company's profit.

Despite the lower profit, Vedanta's overall revenue rose by 6.2% year on year to Rs 374.34 billion. This was driven by strong domestic demand, with revenue from its aluminum and copper businesses growing by 7.7% and 34.6% respectively.
