Alcoa Corp., a leading aluminum producer in the US, demonstrated resilience in its core operations, weathering US tariff policies that cost nearly US$100 million in its second-quarter EBITDA.

The company skillfully shifted sales away from the US to markets such as Europe and Canada to offset duties, showing operational flexibility. The firm's vertical integration, from bauxite mining to aluminum production, remains a key asset, recently strengthened by the Alumina Limited acquisition.

With a strong cash flow and expected third-quarter earnings release on October 22, Alcoa presents a favorable risk-reward prospect for commodity investors, viewing its current valuation as low.
