Australia’s Magnum completes pig iron project study

Australia’s Magnum Mining and Exploration, which is engaged in iron ore concentrate and green pig iron production, indicated that it had completed a study into the technical and economic viability of developing a green and high-purity pig iron (GHPPI) project in Saudi Arabia.

The main purpose of the project was to provide a reasonable estimate of capex and opex for the HIsmelt facility in Saudi Arabia using the proposed Buena Vista Iron Mine magnetite concentrate.

Magnum also signed the memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Saudi Arabia-based Middle East for Metallic Industrial (Midmetal) in order to accelerate enter existing steel mills in Saudi Arabia.
