Brazil launches 2nd AD sunset review on China’s carbon steel seamless line pipes

On August 29, 2024, Brazil’s Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade (MDIC) launched the second sunset review of the anti-dumping (AD) measure applicable to carbon steel seamless line pipes from China, based on the application filed by the domestic company Vallourec Soluções Tubulares do Brasil S.A. on April 30, 2024.

The products involved are carbon steel seamless line pipes, used for oil and gas pipelines, with an external diameter greater than or equal to 5 inches (141.3 mm), but not greater than 14 inches (355.6 mm). These products are classified under the tariff code 7304.19.00 of MERCOSUR Common Nomenclature (NCM).

The investigation period is from January to December 2023, and the injury assessment period covers January 2019 to December 2023.

The current AD duty rate for the subject products is US$778.99 or US$835.47/ton.
