China achieves record monthly alumina output in Sep

According to statistics released by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) of China, China's alumina production, including metallurgical and other grades, reached a record monthly high of 8 million tons in September, slightly up by 0.9% compared to the preceding month and by 8.7% from the same month a year ago. The modest monthly growth showed stable nationwide production.
The strong performance in September pushed China's total alumina output for the January-September period to about 68.6 million tons, a year-on-year hike of 8.4%.
