China's finished steel exports drop in Jan-Apr

According to statistics from the General Administration of Customs of China, China exported around 18.2 million tons of finished steel in the first four months of this year, dropping by 29.2% compared to the same period a year ago.

The export value during the period totaled roughly US$25.7 billion, a year-on-year increase of 14%.

In April alone, China’s finished steel exports totaled nearly 5 million tons, a month-on-month increase of 0.6% and a year-on-year decrease of 37.6%.

The export value in April was US$7.12 billion, up by nearly 6% month on month and down by 3.8% year on year.
