China’s primary aluminum production grows by 4.6% in 2024

Statistics from the National Bureau of Statistics of China showed that China’s primary aluminum production in December 2024 reached around 3.8 million tons, up by 4.2% year on year, with total annual output increasing by 4.6% to 44 million tons.

Meanwhile, alumina production totaled 7.5 million tons, a year-on-year hike of 10.1%, leading to a yearly output of 85.5 million tons, rising by 3.9%. Aluminum products output grew by 2.6% year on year to 6.1 million tons, with annual output increasing by 7.7% to 67.8 million tons. Aluminum alloy production amounted to 1.55 million tons, hiking by 12.7%, bringing an annual total to 16.14 million tons, an increase of 9.6%.
