Global primary aluminum production increases in Dec 2024

According to statistics from the International Aluminum Institute (IAI), global primary aluminum production totaled 6.236 million tons in December 2024, rising by 3.3% compared to the previous month and by 3% from the same month a year ago.
In the month, the global average daily output of primary aluminum was 201,200 tons, keeping flat compared to November.
The estimated output of China's primary aluminum was 3.726 million tons in December, up from 3.606 million tons in November. Production in other regions of Asia was 409,000 tons, growing from 397,000 tons in the previous month.
Besides, the primary aluminum production was 338,000 tons in North America, 137,000 tons in Africa, and 130,000 tons in South America.
