Colombia's steel exports up in Jan-May

According to the National Administrative Department of Statistics (DANE) of Colombia, the country's steel exports for the period of January to May 2024 reached a total volume of about 109,000 tons, reflecting a year-on-year increase of 20.2%. However, the export value for this period decreased by 20.2%, amounting to US$319.38 million.

In May, Colombia exported about 27,000 tons of steel, marking a 19.2% increase compared to the same month last year. Despite this volume growth, the export value for May slightly decreased by 0.1% year on year, totaling US$86.23 million.
